Lake Mary Residents Voice Concerns @ Crystal Lake Preserve Informational Meeting
Crystal Lake Preserve PUD (Planned Unit Development)
Tuesday night Lake Mary City Officials presented the preliminary plan for the development of The Crystal Lake Preserve. Many concerned residents of Timacuan, the golf community that is adjacent to the Crystal Lake Preserve, were in attendance.
Timacuan Homeowners Concerns Regarding The Crystal Lake Preserve PUD
- The intended use of the property (Specifically Not Allowing Groups To Visit)
- By what means the visitors would be entering the property
- Where the visitor’s vehicles will be parked
- What sturctures or Parking areas are to be constructed
The access to the Preserve is at the end of Teton Street in the back of the neighborhood. Currently there are no access roads or established pathways through The Preserve.
The information and meeting was intended to inform the residents of the plan that the city has regarding the transfer of the property to Crystal Lake Preserve, Inc. the charitable foundation that thas been astablish by Betty Leidigh, who originally purchased the land from a developer and deeded it to The City of Lake Mary to protect it from development.
I truly feel for the Timacuan Homeowners, they have very valid concerns regarding the use of the property and how the development, as limited as it is intended to be, will impact their community. Currently the The City of Lake Mary does not have a “clear cut” instrument to transfer the title to Crystal Lake Preserve, Inc. and many of the residents want specific, defined conditions of use before the deed is transferred. The City of Lake Mary is taking the Timacuan Homeowners’ concerns under advisement and have even offered to establish a sub-committee of homeowners to help The City of Lake Mary prepare guidelines of use that everyone can be comfortable with in order for the control of the property to be transferred to Crystal Lake Preserve, Inc.
