There were 49 home sales in Lake Mary during the month of August, two more home sales than July. The overall inventory continues to decline and we have yet to see an influx of the “shadow inventory” that is being hyped in the media.  There are still vacant, bank owned homes in Lake Mary, but we haven’t seen any dramatic increase in the number of bank owned homes available for sale.

Short Sales continue to make up the majority of homes under contract and those sales can take anywhere from a few months to a year to close.  A short sale can provide homeowners with a viable alternative to foreclosure and provide a homeowner to homeowner transfer where the property and community benefit from the avoidance of a foreclosure and an abandoned home.
