It was just 3 weeks ago when The Seminole County School Board voted to move forward with the Olympic-size swimming pool at Lake Mary High School.
This week the City of Lake Mary advised the school board that it would be backing out of it’s commitment to provide $300,000 of funding for the $1.8 million pool project, citing that the pool was no longer a top priority for the City of Lake Mary.
Lake Mary Mayor David Mealor said in a letter to the the Seminole County school Board and County Commission that he would be recommending to the Lake Mary City Commission that they do not move forward with the project.
The School Board has stated that without the financial support of the City of Lake Mary that the pool project will not move forward at this time.
The City of Lake Mary has not posted it’s Agenda for the February 19th meeting, but I imagine that a vote on the pool will be addressed at this time.
